First Day of School

First Day Of School
It's my first day of school
It could be fun
It could be cool
I eat my breakfast up
Get ready for the bus
Ride to school
I'm nervous but I'll try
And keep my cool
The hallways are all filled up
So many kids and grownups
The teacher takes my hand
I'm ready for my lesson at school
Listening and learning is the rule

The classroom has energy
There is you, there is me
The lessons are always true
You could learn like me
And I like you
I'm so glad we met each other at school

Then it's recess
In the sunshine
We can be friends

Now it's back to work

Just then the principle
Knocks on the classroom door
She says she'd like to
Take us down the hallway
Passed the math room
Passed the science room
Down to the music room
Where instruments and things that make a lot of sound
Are everywhere
I'd like to know the sound that each makes
I'd like to learn to play them all somehow

Then it's recess

It's the end of the school day
I'm glad I went to school today
I cannot wait to go back to school tomorrow
I said "I cannot wait to go back to school tomorrow!"
