A Melody

Pages are turning
And I'm simply yearning for more
My life is such a bore

But nothing is working
I'm heart-bent on churning this life
Still don't feel right

I look in the mirror and see a familiar stranger
Know who and where I am, but not the slightest clue
What I'm made for

Can you hear me now? I'm screaming
Can you hear the sounds? Hearts beating
I can't make out to words
I'm feeling on the verge of
Breaking out in front of this brainwashed crowd
Society, out of my way, I don't have much to prove but a lot to say
Don't ask me what I'm thinking
'Cause if a knew, then it would be
A melody

I know the paths open
But not their directions at all
So I make a call

Out to you God
Take me anywhere but here
I'm drowning in a sea of fear

They say, "good job, kid" while you neglect your destiny
Why is mediocrity so romanticized by society?

Take heart, and don't let go
To feel His presence inside my soul
Aim high, and spread my wings like an eagle in the sky

Don't push me, 'cause i'll leave
You can't rewire my brain
You say you're realistic
