Augustus

Augustus hill was a self made man
Blue collar coal miner businessman
He had fourteen of his own
But depression over took him and took his thrown
One terrible afternoon of my lord he was consumed
And his sickness it tied the noose
His sons they cut him down but he said

Mind your mother your sisters your brothers
And remember me as i was
Sing to Jesus he'll never leave us
And remember me as i was
Not what I've become

The day the market crashed
I never looked back I gave all I have
To say times were tough would be cheap
But all this money run out of me
My compassion got the best of me
So I headed west with all fourteen
But times were rough everywhere it seems i let the devil whisper to me
I cant take these migraines there killing me
There choking my thoughts i can barely speak
Give my best to my Jenny and my fourteen

Mind your mother your sisters your brothers
And remember me as i was
Sing to Jesus he'll never leave us
And remember me as i was
Not what I've become

Mind your mother your sisters your brothers
And remember me as i was
Sing to Jesus he'll never leave us
And remember me as i was
Not what I've become
