Took Away the Pain

The streets are full of mist or could it be my eyes?
Was it just a dream I had
Or a message from the skies?

Deep dark planes of nothing I live
Landscapes drained of energy
Dream of a life I might forgive
Fight my worst enemy

There were noises like a storm
Coming from a distant land
And there were voices in the darkness
That I couldn't understand

Then a light burst from the sky
And I didn't feel again
But I won't forget the winds
That Took Away The Pain

Each day that I counted since the day she shot the gun
Life feels like a sleepless coma
Dark space in which to run

Hands of ice that freeze my blood
Lead down a silver corridor
Lights that blind my conscious for good
How will I stay the same?

There were noises like a storm
Coming from a distant land
And there were voices in the darkness
That I couldn't understand

Then a light burst from the sky
And I didn't feel again
But I won't forget the winds
That Took Away The Pain
