Other Side
Think i'm gonna lie
Let me tell you
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
Think i'm gonna lie
Let me tell you
Tell you my story
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
My mom seemed so happy
So I didn't wanna ruin it by telling her what was happening
Mental abuse and trauma
All I wanted was to avoid the family drama
And I convinced myself that these were dreams that my mind made up
As I grew older the memories would not let up
I started to believe that I was stupid
So I escaped into the rhythm of my music
And looking back it's obvious now that I'd be an addict
Anything I could find to make my memory static
Such an early age developing coping mechanisms
Trapped in my own prison
Tunnel vision
Never Listen
And all they saw was a freakin heathen
Don't you think that there might be a reason
And while we're at it
And it's getting savage
I'm just glad that i'm even breathing
Think i'm gonna lie
Dear God no I don't have to
I'm just passing through
Think i'm gonna lie
If you see enough evil in your life
You gotta believe there's another side
Think i'm gonna lie
All I'll speak is truth
God is real
I found my proof
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
Think i'm gonna lie
Let me tell you
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
Think i'm gonna lie
Let me tell you
Tell you my story
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
It's crazy to me how many people didn't even notice that I was gone
My heart and I had fought long enough
I was given the option to pack my things and move on
April 23rd of my birthday my mom was crying
I'm leaving out the door I tell her I'ma be fine
And to hell with all of my addictions
Stealing just so I can crush up these prescriptions
Had to separate myself form the framework I created
Praying to the devil
Didn't wanna say it
But I guess I said it
Quit showing up to work
My mind had gone berserk
Voices telling me that I was dead already
It can't get worse
It's picture perfect
My own worst enemy
What's on the other side of death for me serenity
A third person vision flooded me
A lonely mother finding her lifeless son hanging from a mezzanine
Wow man
It has occurred to me that my real problem is selfishness
If I ended it that the day
The hearts of those who love me would be the ones left to bear my wretchedness
And this realization was heaven sent
Let me tell you
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
Let me tell you
Tell you my story
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
You won't like it
Let me tell you
Think i'm gonna lie
You won't like it
Think i'm gonna lie
Let me tell you
