Conundrum

Never thought I'd die this way
Though I always said I would go down in flames
At the end of this rope I hang
I can't help but live for another day
I'm just as surprised as you
When another foot is in my shoes
Don't want to believe in that
So I turn around and take it back

I'd rather die alone than be caught between the black and white
I distance myself from the battle and the fight
Can't make heads or tails if you are day or you are night
I'm pretty sure I'm wrong wrong though I'm right

Up when I'm down
Because that's what they say I should feel today
I can reach out my hand
But I'm pretty sure of the fears in my mind
No matter how hard I push
They all seem to pull me back in again
So I made a choice today
And I will not stop if you're in my way

I'd rather die alone than be caught between the black and white
I distance myself from the battle and the fight
Can't make heads or tails if you are day or you are night
I'm pretty sure I'm wrong wrong though I'm right
I'm pretty sure

How could you possibly know standing over there
What you don't expect out of me is exactly what I should be

How could you feel that way
And expect me to fall down that hole with you
Because now that I can see
Where I went wrong for so very long
This container around me I believe
Could very well be the thing that is killing me
And in this conundrum I face
Everything has become as clear as day

I'd rather die alone than be caught between the black and white
I distance myself from the battle and the fight
Can't make heads or tails if you are day or you are night
I'm pretty sure I'm wrong wrong though I'm right
I'm pretty sure I'm wrong wrong though I'm right
