Bloody Hands

I am back, i am John Tittor
Member of the inner party
Soldier from an unset future
Sent back here to collect conclusive info
And broadcast on the internet
My occupation in retrospect is obsolete
The thought police already got to me
With electroshock therapy they cured me of my mindset
And set me back five years that it took for me to find it
I think i'll get i'll get a medal for what i do here when i'm done
Yet thinking is still a crime in the future where i'm from
Yet i'd rather be a criminal than to not take a stand
In states of perpetual war, everyone's got blood on their hands
And it's gonna take an act of god to get it off now
I forgot, when did "thou shalt not kill" get crossed out?
And it's irony, a sunken old man said
To have jesus in your heart, but not to have him in your head
And then he wept
"Is there no one else to take a stand?
Cause in days like these, everyone's got blood on their hands"

And i've got bloody hands and i don't know what to do about it
I want truth but don't wanna be the one they beat it out of
I feel safe but a part of me i truly doubt it
I just love life and i don't know what it is i'd do without it

Some live life without living it
I could never pretend that i didn't
I did and my limited mind didn't get that i live and give in my benefit
So
Cause when i'm from our time is touch and go
I'd not expected you to change it
I just thought that you should know

I lived my - life without living, i could drown in my regret
Cause life's the only work i'm not trying to forget
And i let
The rhythm of the drum set my step
And it turned me sycophant 'til i grew sick of it and left
