Strange Vale

Once i have overcome this war
by sculpting quietly this device
though there's a little light in my tact
i am always sure to find
these effigies won't always please

there's no better time
to realise
that they carved you straight out of their stone
frozen in your own home
i'm too weak to leave
cant you control yourself
or lord i know this symbiotic dream
so tell me, what did i fulfil

unknown forces chained to my neck
over deserts sun drenched
dragging my legs
dragging miles

your morality for i plead
when the night conceals me
more than i need
so that while
i came to be born from pity
obelisk lethargy
does it leave me with a fist
i'll maraud too

mist it cloaks the yard
we're restrained in grey
wristwatch withstanding unsought hours lost
in days astray

these chains will swing
without the wind
promise you're never feigning all your whims
so i may sing
