Loose Ends

I just wanted to say to those who would never
Wait on me for a simple little second
That I was never needed here
There's a long line stretchin' out from the carnival ride, and

I just wanted to lay away in the sewers
Maybe treated like a rat
But all you god damn fat cats
You'd look at me funny either way
And isn't it kinda funny that on this day I'd

Give you the satisfaction you never even knew you wanted

A light blinds my sunken, calloused eyes
And I rely on the timid temptress to tell me the time
My nights are written out on the white line
And a fine line, but this wretched line is mine

I contemplated throwin' out my life, oh

So here I lay, callin' my mother and father from the outside
To drag in my friends and lay down beside
This kind lie, I lived that lie

I couldn't force you to stay beside me
But I wish I could force myself
To stop in my steps and turn back 'round the bend
But now my page has gotta end

So ya burn my skin and lay me inside that god damn urn wherein my name lie

Old friends, they make me hate on my new friends
And no friends, what does it matter at all
New friends, they make me think of my old friends
And all the loose ends, they hang around on my walls

I drank all the punch I poisoned for the ball
And now I'm gone
