Raw Love

When poetry isn't enough
And all those fucks forgot to call your bluff
While you're sitting there holding your wrists
You got cut down by my kiss
Tastes like Sierra Mist combined with Sunkist
I have lemon twist to a story full of lullabies and youthful melodies
I can still remember songs I used to sing when I was three
And here you are, near the stars
Take 'em all and give them to me
I wanna set you free, and let you see
You're my wonderboy
I remember how we met at that candlelight vigil down in Orlando
We made hasty indecisions about what we wanted and when we did
When we went public, damn, we hid
Inside of a cereal box of sex on acid
We parked so close to each other's cars, setting off the alarms
From vibes that we gave each other like glowing mason jars
Boy you a Star Crunch, a midnight munch
Of saying too much, alone but I don't give a fuck
I'm with you now, face down on a mattress, I pounce
A pound of wine or a pint of regrets in a flask
Don't kiss my ass, boy kiss my lips
I play for keeps, you suck for tips
Don't need the Prozac, you best forget that
You're in my backpack, you're like a leg tat
Hey where's my head pat? I need the med vac
I heard my heart crack, before I read that
That you were done with me, you ain't deserving me
You put the hurt on me, you wouldn't pardon me
So I regrettably show my teeth or did I regret it all, you'll never know
Cause you never asked those types of questions
Every time someone compliments you it builds up pressure
Depending on the nature of the compliment, it builds up a little bit more or a little bit less
But the point
The point is that it builds pressure, expectation, tension
When poetry isn't enough
And all those fucks forgot to call your bluff
While you're sitting there holding your wrists
You got cut down by my kiss
Tastes like Sierra Mist combined with Sunkist
I have lemon twist to a story full of lullabies and youthful melodies
I can still remember songs I used to sing when I was three
And here you are, near the stars
Take 'em all and give them to me
I wanna set you free, and let you see
You're my wonderboy
