Poetry in Disguise

I felt my heart stop for a minute
Had to pinch myself so I might wake up
Do you mind if I just sit and talk for a minute?
Then again a minute might not be long enough

And like light through a crystal ball
Yeah you throw me 'round the room
With my back up against the wall
I don't know what to do

What do I do now?
What do I say?
It all seems so distant
I just can't get away
The way your hair dangles by your eyes
And words roll of your tongue
I swear it's poetry in disguise
As casual conversation

Oh you've got a hold on me
Yeah you've got a hold on me

I'm tired of moping around here alone
Would you spare a moment to pick me up?
And by now oh you might have worked out
I'm self-absorbed, victimised and a little bit down
But it never feels like that when you're around

And like light through a crystal ball
Yeah you throw me 'round the room
I'm bouncing off the walls
I just don't know what to say to you

What do I do now?
What do I say?
It all seems so distant
I just can't get away
The way your hair dangles by your eyes
And words roll of your tongue
I swear it's poetry in disguise
As casual conversation

But you've got a hold on me
Yeah you've got a hold on me

I know I want this now
But I don't know what to say
Everything's so distant
Can you help me step away?
The way your hair dangles by your eyes
And words roll of your tongue
I swear it's poetry in disguise
As casual conversation

But you've got a hold on me
Yeah you've got a hold on me
