I heard woman talking today
About a song she'd heard, it had the most amazing words
The melody had left her inspired
And the voice that sung the song was by far the most beautiful she'd heard

It's simple and it makes you understand
She said, it's something simple, so pure and in demand
I asked her what the song was about
She smiled and said it's not something you just figure out

And this is what all the fuss is about
This is what makes her strong
What good is trying to figure out
What led you here when there's nothing wrong

It talked about adventures of the moment
Stoplight and fools, and things you mightn't learn in a life
But you won't hear it if you're too far away
She said, listen carefully, you'll be close enough to hear it someday

And it may be true that sometimes we all get carried away
Thinking too much about tomorrow today
Some days you've got to take a chance, in some way

So I said that I would love to hear this song
I could learn the words and then perhaps in time I'd sing along
She smiled and then she laughed at what I'd said
'Cause it's just a song, that every day she hears in her head

And if this is what all the fuss is about, then
I'm already feeling strong
I'm not going to try to work this out no more
I just want to hear her song
