Jar of Electricity

I found a jar of electricity
Licking the edges of the glass trying to be free
I tried to open the lid but it shocked me
It said I'd rather be safe than happy

I watched a spark turn into a flame
I held my hand to the fire but felt no pain
It said if you let me hold you, you'll never be the same
And so I took a step forward and melted away

And I don't mean to stain
But if you want
You can use my ashes
For your art
I won't blow away

I caught a glimpse of you looking my way
I held it in my pocket for a couple days
It said if you let me hold you, you'll never be same
And so I took a step forward and melted away

And I don't mean to stain
But if you want
You can use my ashes
For your art
And we'll paint a masterpiece
Using both of our names

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Hey-yeah!
