Violet Fire

If ice was warm
And winter could burn an iris to it's core
Cool is the warmest flame
It melts the blame
Without shame
We cause violet fires, it seems-

We're but a dream
Emerald eyes and purple skies
They gleam
Mountain breeze, fall to me knees
I stare in admiration
Familiar smell i know too well
A love that often bleeds

In two more steps you'll pass me by
And I'll awake with tired eyes
And my fears of loneliness are no surprise
I sit on a chalkboard roof as skies turns a darker blue
And I fill my lazy head with thoughts of you
And I lit the violet fire to clean

In truth I lie
In a freezing bed of longing I hide
Fool is the only name
That I'm to claim
We're the same
So flows the violet flame again

And there is rain
Majesty and disbelief remain
Holy means your soul's pristine
Unearthly man redeems
Hubris of a god above
My own relief is love

In two more steps you'll pass me by
And I'll awake with tired eyes
