Stop Motion Film

It was as the sun went down
The streetlamps took their glow
The stage lights fade to dark
And my mind was torn apart
Forming lines and patterns in the newborn scene
Frame by frame
The future laid in front of me

And the pictures have got me down
Overloaded with the sights and the sounds
Trying to make sense of words that I can't say
And I don't know, oh I don't know, oh I don't know, oh no

So I set out
Looking for a different way
I could see the strings
Pulled tight from place to place
Words scripted, screenplays floating through the air
Fate in stop motion
How the Hell could I even care

And the pictures have got me down
Overloaded with the sights and the sounds
Trying to make sense of words that I can't say
And I don't know, oh I don't know, oh I don't know, oh no

Vines pour from my mouth
I spy a man in the sky
He tells me what to say and what to do

Fight to hold my breath
Or surrender what is left
To delay or to parade my self control
