Difference

Growing up wanting to be an astronaut
Yeah that's the dream of the average guy
But I was different that's because of God
Spread my wings so that I can fly
On the path to higher places
Running like I'm in the races
I was never catching cases
I flipped them numbers that was basic
Chased green numbers I'm in the matrix
Keep getting so close to winning I could taste it yeah

And that's what kept us separated
I was getting all the money younger cats were hating
They wanna see me fall on my downfall they waiting
My dad ain't keep me in the house he was being patient
Waiting on me to grow up
Had to put the toys up
Taught me how to ride bikes yeah I threw the wheel up
Next we in this big truck
Had to take a step up
We was kings in the city man no one could touch us

Nah then one night that all changed
Walked in the house hear the phone ring
Said my dad went down the same lane
In the back of the car man he shackled in chains
And from that day nothing was the same
Still feel it in my heart still feel the pain
Still feel the pain still feel it in my heart
Nothing was the same

But thank God we made bail
Later on that night we got my dad up out of there
So he can say he never spent a night in jail
And as a man I sat back and watched him fail
And get back up on his feet yeah he doing well
Was there hard times yeah I couldn't tell
He showed me right from wrong that was his preference
I was raised to be good yeah that was the difference
