Secret of Life

I found the secret of life isn't hidden in the complexities
But being grateful for the little things
Like a clean towel out the shower
Or a new pair of socks on my feet

I never got stuck in an a minor
I was more of a C plus student
Now I'm working retail
Trying to remember if I was in a car, parked
When I first heard "Catch a tiger by the tail"
Working for the saddest white man
In black clothes
Like a traveling undertaker delivering bad news with Vick's vapor rub under his nose

I found the secret of life isn't hidden in the complexities
But being grateful for the little things
Like a clean towel out the shower
Or a new pair of socks on my feet

I've heard more then once it's just the little things
But I truly believe that
Like teaching my daughter how to play Mario
Or enjoy some beastie boys on tiny record player with the boom bap
Your worth isn't measured by your job
But whatever you put in to what people will will remember you by
It really isn't that hard
Just be good, to people
& hopefully they will be good to you back
If not
Cut them out of your life
It's easy
Also there's no turning back
