Home & Home Again

Learning the sunrise and lying awake
Turning the burner, and cooking an egg
Further from home, I'm living away
Furthered the phone, it's slipping away
Passively funny, when coming to the bank
Used the last of my money
Maybe one bill's paid
Used the last of my money
And one bill's paid

Now I'm unsure, and surely, it'll stay
If I return, is this turn a mistake
With all of my measurements drawn in a day
I'm cursing the person I've turned to today
What a blank

I recall, then calculate
I've been sitting out
Leaning on the sill with grout
"What about the past that passes you?"
That's the path that I've pattered to
Now I slap my head
And my hair is a mess
Ow, I slapped my head
Shivering and shaken
Vigorously angry cases
Of the ups and downs, I hate it
And the places that I chose
In the places that I choose
With the what-what that I know
And who-who that you do

I'm given an opportunity
And it's then seen once
Under a soft linen amenity
I'm betting that there's "much"
Cause I said it's a "bunch"
And that one time it was one
So now what once was
Is what will always be
So when I wonder
What's under the sheet
The bunch is a number
at least one to me
In hope and faith
That there's much more to see
This is me
But when I overthink

Now, I am home
and the steady path is crawled
Dusting the trail
To ensure I'm still on
With a change of heart
Change in head, change in song
Change in hand, the place,
It's a total different nod
I'd tip my hat,
But I haven't had one on
Now the path of past
Is pattern like song
