The Epitaph of My Youth

Riding bikes on summer nights 'til streetlights all came on
Wrestling moves and Halo 2, staying up 'til dawn
Wandering mind through younger times, way back in 2009
Summer skies and bloodshot eyes and brotherhood that never dies

Blasting the Ataris out the window of your car
Drinking shots of Jameson down at the Celtic Star
Remember sleeping at my place, a mattress on the floor?
Party down at Marlatt 9, we couldn't ask for more

Years went by before our eyes
But friendship never dies
And that's the truth
We're living proof
But we grew up and we moved on
And now those days are all long gone
And that's the truth
This is the epitaph of my youth

We married high school sweethearts
We have families of our own
Some moved miles and miles away
And some stayed close to home
Through the years and through the miles
I say to all of you
Brothers 'til the day we die
We're family through and through

Years went by before our eyes
But friendship never dies
And that's the truth
We're living proof
But we grew up and we moved on
And now those days are all long gone
And that's the truth
This is the epitaph of my youth

Years went by before our eyes
But friendship never dies
And that's the truth
We're living proof
But we grew up and we moved on
And now those days are all long gone
And that's the truth

Years went by before our eyes
But friendship never dies
And that's the truth
We're living proof
But we grew up and we moved on
And now those days are all long gone
And that's the truth
This is the epitaph of my youth
