Queen Size

I've got a queen sized mattress
That I'll never use in full
I should have kept my twin
Cuz this foolish king sleeps alone

And I'll stay on my side
Like I'm practicing for your presence
But in the present
I'm a small man in a bed that's far too big

In the night I'll toss around
Cuz the space allows it
And I'm longing for restriction
To the freedom of this bed

And this freedom it feels like shackles
And my ankle is bound to this bed
If you see a lone man
Dragging a queen size though the street by his ankle
Please, have mercy on me, mercy on me

On my side I'll look over
Imagining that somebodies there
When I examine for impression
The mattress is entirely bare

Sallowed up in sky blue stripped sheets
I wonder if we'll ever meet
On this bed or anywhere
I'll admit I'm alone and scared

In the night I'll toss around
Cuz the space allows it
And I'm longing for restriction
To the freedom of this bed

And this freedom it feels like shackles
And my ankle is bound to this bed
If you see a lone man
Dragging a queen size though the street by his ankle
Please, have mercy on me, mercy on me
