The Doctor's Monster

Frankenstein
If you're looking for a ghost story
You've come to the wrong place
This is a story about a good and honest man
Who tried to change the world
He saw a problem that he could fix
Wherever his eyes would fall
If only we would listen
He tried and he tried to tell us all
But he was shy and quiet
While we were confident and loud
So he ditched the crowd
And went inside to study
He got lonely, but he coped
He was a little twisted but naturally gifted
And he worked harder than most
So he whispered to himself and he sinked into a hole
He was always thinking and tinkering
But I think he thinked too much alone
So he built himself a creature
He made a monster come alive
He didn't mean to
He didn't realize it was a monster at the time
Hey, ooh
It's alive, it's alive
Does it feel inside?
Is it just like me behind those eyes
Will he understand any word I say
Come along with me and I'll show you the way
We continue on our story here
As Frank begins to walk
And we quickly learn that the monster here
Is not afraid of much
So he stumbled out the castle
And went out to see the world
It was a world that was so simple
But not ready for him now
Then he met little Maria
All alone down by the lake
While she was playing with her cat
And picking flowers one fine day
Will you play with me, she asked
Then she took him by the hand
And the monster's heart began to melt
So he knelt down in the sand
She threw flowers in the water
And she called them little boats
Then the monster picked her up
He tossed her in to watch her float
But she drowned and died
Hey, ooh
It's alive, it's alive
Does he feel inside?
Is he just like me behind those eyes
Will he understand any word I say
Come along with me and I'll show you the way
It's alive, it's alive
Does it feel inside?
Is it just like me behind those eyes
Will he understand any word I say
Come along with me and I'll show you the way
I'm alive, I'm alive
Please leave me alone
I'm alive, I'm alive
Please leave me alone
I'm alive, I'm alive
Please leave me alone
I'm alive, I'm alive
Please leave me alone
It's alive, it's alive
Light your torches
It's alive, it's alive
Was it worth it
It's alive, it's alive
Light your torches
It's alive, it's alive
It's a monster
