Edgar Allan Poe (Little Paul's Story)
28 August 1964
Paul Milton Reed the second, from the crowd, began to bore
Who would've known at this moment, he'd only live til four
Here I stand decades later, and his grave quoths "Nevermore"
Mama told me, she really loved him
But she was only two when he died, and she just mustn't
Believe that she remembers him, so I ask why
I guess this fussin, comes from way deep dark down, drowning inside
His soul begins to plunder
My mama's brain begins to wonder
How could a boy be caused so much harm, who never ever saw 4 summers
My mom never saw the lightning, but she still felt the thunders
Now Paul was only four, but he had so much character
Sick of this world, he seemed to be born a carrier
Of scarier things than one imagines, nevermore drearier
Situations were sticky, they never ever been hairier
Blessed with Pneumonia, neglect, but never with respect for
A child should be born to a home bearing a a red door
He heard the knocking and wondered what there were feds for
Daddy walked out in cuffs, no one guessed that this was nevermore
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
Dig deep dark down, drown in soul
Paul's tombstone read "Nevermore"
This will leave 'em singing like some big black crows
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
Dig deep dark down, drown in soul
Paul's tombstone read "Nevermore"
This will leave 'em singing like some big black crows
Now where was mama Bev. Probably in the bathroom
Filling her head full of lead
Not really, but drugs like these, I swear, will leave you brain dead
Again, I'm speaking these words, only from what I've read
Worst of all, Paul wasn't alone, he had some siblings
Though they weren't all full, out hatched some gremlins
Cindy, Tony Baloney and Rebecca Lagrin
In 1969, Becky was 2, Tony was 8, and Cindy was ten
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
Dig deep dark down, drown in soul
Paul's tombstone read "Nevermore"
This will leave 'em singing like some big black crows
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
Dig deep dark down, drown in soul
Paul's tombstone read "Nevermore"
This will leave 'em singing like some big black crows
On a cold winter day, while Beverly was out and about
The youngins sat alone, too young to shout, afraid they'd pout
This was the way life was, complain too much they'd swat your mouth
Remember mama knows best, now, go and sit in that house
Behave yourselves, I'll be back, don't open the door
This gave Little Paul some time, the time he needed to explore
Blood dripping from his mouth, his siblings witnessed the gore
Thought he was playing, Paul was funny, until he shook on the floor
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
Dig deep dark down, drown in soul
Paul's tombstone read "Nevermore"
This will leave 'em singing like some big black crows
My name in Edgar Allan Poe oo wo oh
