Daisies

My name's Michael
And here are your parcels
Delivered to me next door

I'll wave every morning
While I'm outside tending to a
Garden that became overgrown

You see my poor baby
Has gone a little crazy
As she doesn't know who I am anymore
Yeah she's up the road in a nursing home

So I'll keep on planting
And do a little dance when
I'm humming a tune that we used to sing
As I know one day
She'll walk through that gate
And hum that same tune with me

On Tuesdays I'll have an earl grey
With a plate of red velvet
I look out to the sky and picture in my mind
Her sitting here eating our favourite

Although it's been a while
Since I've seen her smile
I'll bring these on my next visit
As the nurse said it could help a little bit

So I'll keep on planting
And do a little dance when
I'm humming a tune that we used to sing
As I know one day
She'll walk through that gate
And hum this same tune with me

Ba-da-ba-ba-da-da-di
Ba-da-da-da-da-de-di
Ooh-ooh yeah yeah yeah

Ba-da-ba-ba-da-da-di
Ba-da-da-da-da-de-di
Ooh-ooh yeah yeah yeah

So take this advice
That my own beautiful wife
Once gave to me

If you dance in the sun
It'll help you stay young
And remember to water the daisies

So I'll keep on planting
And do a little dance when
I'm humming a tune that we used to sing
As I know one day
She'll walk through that gate
And hum that same tune with

Keep on planting
And do a little dance when
I'm humming a tune that we used to sing
As I know one day
She'll walk through that gate
And return home to me
