Underdog

When you were young, you thought you could be anyone
But who would become the underdog

The weaker one, who thinks they can beat anyone
Rise through the ranks, the underdog

As I've grown up I've learned my heroes are strong
Physically strong, not like me

So what do I do? Do I run, lift, and who
Do I laugh at when I prove them wrong

But then I'm physically ill
Climbing a hill
Not cut out for this
Underdog

So you'll be stronger than me, less self-deprecating
Who still roots for the underdog

As I continued to grow my lack of effort showed
I couldn't become the underdog

I was putting me down, the underhound
What was it I kept doing wrong

No motivation, did I keep hesitating
Did my emotions take control
I almost gave up, my future sucked
I'm a pessimist, I'm done

But then I met a man who had wisdom to tell
He said if you lose, lose well, my underdog
So I'll come back you'll see, far more captivating
And I'll do it my way, the Underdog
