The Pit

In the oceans deep and caverns steep nothing compares
To the pit that the world has buried you in
And there's marks on the walls and you are unsure why they're there
You've been going insane counting the days
Was it you yourself, or someone else who put you down here
But the beauty of this is nobody knows you're there
And darling I'm sure you're safe and secure when you're down here
But nothing I'm afraid can stop a cave from caving in

You're down in your pit with your hands in a fist looking up at the world
So come out of your pit with your hands on your head and surrender yourself

And what scares you the most if they get too close they'll see what's inside
But darling don't fear the light up here but it will burn your eyes
You dig your claws into the walls and climb right to the top
You animal you're out of control but you won't ever be stopped

And you're down in your pit with your hands in a fist looking up at the world
So come out of your pit with your hands on your head and surrender yourself

Oh Morning come burst through the clouds
The people are singing there anthems loud
And the harvest left no food for the land
And the sirens are calling but nobody's falling for the trick of man

And you're down in your pit thinking "oh god is this what a life is like?"
So come out of your pit with your hands on your head and surrender your life

La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la aha aha
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la la la
