Father's Song
So whenever I bring this out
One person in the crowd always like, "Is that a baby guitar?" (heh)
No, it's not (haha)
(Haha) mom! You should know this, mom
It's a ukulele
(Haha) you silly
Got it from my momma (haha)
Alright, now it's dad turn (hahaha)
Sorry rose, I did this thing in my family like write each family member a song
I guess, I don't know
Hmm, so I wrote this song, probably about two or three years ago
Probably three, maybe four?
Ok, longer than that
Hmm, but yeah, I wrote this for him for father's day
Hmm, the first time I wrote it for him and gave him the lyric
And the second father's day I recorded it, and suprise him with it
Hmm, so he really likes the song and knew you want to hear it
So, (haha) I am glad that what it meant for
But yeah, this is called father's song
And it goes out to my daddy
I know a guy who got it right
He's loved me from the day I arrived
A guiding hand and a sunny smile
To get me through the hard times
Well, I know a guy who held me tight
And loved me from the day I arrived
A big 'ole heart and a laugh to match
That makes me cherish the good times
But he's got so much more to offer
He's a teacher and a lover, a good friend and brother
Everyone's go-to guy
He's a preacher and a giver, a real kind mister
The one who always has the best advice
The hardest worker and the calmest peacemaker
But no title fits him better than father
Well, I know a guy who knows his stuff
He's taught me as I've grown up
Those life lessons I heard too much
Helped me when things got rough
Well, I don't listen as much as I should
According to him, it's for my good
Although I roll my eyes sometimes
I know he's always on my side
'Cause he's a teacher and a lover, a good friend and brother
Everyone's go-to guy
He's a preacher and a giver, a real kind mister
The one who always has the best advice
The hardest worker and the calmest peacemaker
But no title fits him better than father
Through the tears and the fears and the heartbreaks
I've got a hand to hold
Through the mistakes he'll say I told you so
But it's okay
'Cause he's a teacher and a lover, a good friend and brother
Everyone's go-to guy
He's a preacher and a giver, a real kind mister
The one who always has the best advice
The hardest worker and the calmest peacemaker
But no title fits him better than father
Father
