May All Your Days Be Holidays

What's that feeling in the air
When the autumn leaves no longer are there?
Do the snowdrifts on the ground
Spread this spirit all around?
What's that music that I hear?
What's that season drawing near?
What always makes me feel this way
When I recall this holiday?

I remember winter days of old
Building snowmen in the cold
Frosted windows strung with lights
That seemed so warm on snowy nights
Decorations on our tree
These things all meant so much to me

Sliding down a hill so white
Skating on the pond at night
Dinner with my family
So many things that used to be
Though my youth has flown away
It seems like yesterday

The peace and love and winter cheer
We feel at this time of year
Is not from all the gifts we buy
But memories of joys gone by

And now my kids have children too
I watch it all begin anew
They decorate a brand new tree
And make a brand new memory

This is my song; this is my prayer
This is the feeling in the air
May you find peace an love that stays
May all your days be holidays
