Footprints Two the Sequel
I clung on hard to my savior
Who cradled me tight in his hands
And when I looked behind at the way we had come
I saw one set of prints in the sand
Jesus said, "You're getting quite heavy
And I think I should just put you down."
"Oh No," I screamed to the savior
"If you do, then I surely will drown."
Jesus said, "Where's your sense of humor
You're as serious as a bad heart attack
And the reason you saw only one set of prints
Is you wouldn't get off of my back
Ohhhh
You wouldn't get off of my back
You wouldn't get off of my back
And the reason you saw only one set of prints
Is you wouldn't get off of my back
I said, "Jesus, I know you won't leave me
You said you'd be here all my days."
Jesus said, "I think now you can stand by yourself
I'm not here for your prayers or your praise."
He said, "Seriously dude, you're getting heavy
A whiny, ungrateful backpack
The reason you see only one set of prints
Is you won't get off of my back."
"Ohhhh
You won't get off of my back
You won't get off of my back
And the reason you see only one set of prints
Is you won't get off of my back."
Well I guess, Jesus finally got tired
And dropped me right there on the beach
And I sat in the surf, and he looked in my face
And said, "I have one more lesson to teach."
"Stop putting all your stuff in my hands
Dad gave you two hands of your own.
So fix it or don't. It's all up to you.
I just need some time all alone."
"So get up and walk by yourself
Cause I'm tired of taking the flack
The reason you saw only one set of prints
Is you wouldn't get off of my back."
"Ohhhh
You wouldn't get off of my back
You wouldn't get off of my back
And the reason you saw only one set of prints
Is you wouldn't get off of my back."
If you want a moral or lesson
Like the parables, Jesus once told
Give a sandwich to someone who's hungry
And a blanket to someone who's cold
It's time we all got to work now
And we know we're on the right track
There are ten million sets of prints in the sand
Cause we finally got off of his back
Ohhhh
We finally got off of his back
We finally got off of his back
There are ten million sets of prints in the sand
Cause we finally got off of his back
There are ten million sets of prints in the sand
Cause we finally got off of his back
There are ten million sets of prints in the sand
