Man Of The Cliffs

I woke up last night, something was howling at my moon
I crawled down from the mountain but the morning came too soon

The sun it hits the valley walls
As an old mountain lion calls

Ain't got no footing
Ain't got no flint
Just my old mouth harp full of pocket lint

Until a chill set down a blanket of snow
It's life in the valley below

I was a shooting star and I shot across last night
Mornin' snake slither the grass, it gives bite

The sun it hits the valley walls
As a lonely mountain lion calls

Ain't got no footing
Ain't got no flint
Just a half empty bottle and a boss eyed squint

Until a chill set down a blanket of snow
It's life in the valley below

Did you see the moon tonight?
Huh?
The moon
The moon don't bother me none

I am a man of the cliffs and I live looking down
The moon belongs to me and I stand my ground
