The Story of Asleep (Live)

So yeah um, I'm Basic Printer uh, I hope this isn't too weird for you
I don't think it's that weird, I'm sure a lot of you agree but, uh
Ya know you kinda have to pretend you're aliens to Nashville crowd sometimes

Um, but like, really in essence i'm just a songwriter too
I just use various instruments and my computer to get it done and
I kinda always found like an acoustic guitar to just not have enough oomph
Like once i found synthesizers and things, it was like, you can paint these landscapes
Just like very simply and that's like way more intriguing for me to tell a story, so

Speaking of this next song we played on tour it's about someone I dated
And we played in her city last month and I was like hey you should come out we're Playing a song about you
And... which, well I thought that was like a pretty normal Nashville thing, too
It's like there's probably so many first names of like real people in songs in Nashville

But yeah, so, we, she was gonna come out
And the next day I saw her and she was like 'I slept through the show'
I was like wow... okay
But uh, she... so I wrote this a long time ago
And named it a long time ago, it's called Asleep
