December

Everyone wants something special in December:
A sweater they put on when it's cold or a place they call home
Where family gets together.
Everyone wants to see those lights upon the trees
And marvel at their glow in the dark
On a carriage in the park
While a choir is caroling.

But this year I want
to be with you.
This year I want
for us to see the world and
climb mountains in the morning,
Sail seas in the evening,
Wake up every morning
And feel you there sleeping.
Wrap my arms around you darling,
My gift that keeps on giving.
My gift that keeps on giving.

Most folks I know look back on life in December...
What they wish they could have done,
On every joy and every pain,
All that they can remember.
Everyone is making plans for the new year:
'What must we do? What must we change?
And what stays the same, and what can we do better?'

But this year I want
to be with you.
Yeah this year I want
for us to see the world and
climb mountains in the morning,
Sail seas in the evening,
Wake up every morning
And feel you there sleeping.
Wrap my arms around you darling,
My gift that keeps on giving.
My gift that keeps on giving.
My gift that keeps on giving...
