Hope
I hope I don't come off the wrong way
But everything I've done has been so cliche
I've pried and pried for a more happy life
But I just end up on the floor defeated with strife
I know I never came off the right way
But your smile, your smile, it makes me have a better day
The hope you give, the light that shines
It makes me want to do anything, and want to try
I know I haven't been very suffice
I've fought and fought but nothing is ever right
Thinking what is now, and what holes that I've been
I never thought of the holy rain that will eventually seep in
I want to impress you, I want you to be loved
But nothing just ever is enough
So give me a chance, and maybe just two
Since Its been 15 years going out with you
15 years surrounded by debt
We just take out loans that we'll eventually regret
But pay them back? No, just throw em' to the side.
Let the government come, and hinder our smooth ride
But we shouldn't take that, no, lets run away
I found a place down south where we can both stay
We'll be free from our burdens, with just our love and lust
But I guess we shouldn't let our foolish thoughts control us.
Maybe we can just lay
Lay one more day in this frozen buffet
Figuring which piece is colder, until we take that bite
Killing our teeth with our will to fight
And I'm sorry to say that I have to end things like this
You've abused me lately, given me no bliss
But hey, we can work things out
15 years ain't nothing, it's gonna be 80 we're talking about.
But everything I've done has been so cliche
