R.I.P. (The city never sleeps)

My cousin was haunted by a ghost,
When I was a boy we all lived together
In a big house, that was full of stories,
Full of sounds and filled with mysteries

She would lock the door, when she was left home alone
If somebody knocked then she lost her color
Who could it be at this hour?
It was just me

Poor girl, she couldn't sleep,
She saw the woman in her dreams
Doing bad things, bad, bad things
I'm terrified just writing about it

She had a name, I don't say it out loud
Rest In Peace, don't come back around
She had her past, she didn't wanna let go
Rest In Peace to the ghosts I know

I was so scared of the dark,
I always saw silhouettes at night and scary faces
Couldn't stay up cause I felt endangered,
Couldn't close my eyes 'cause I felt something breathing on me
Long time ago, but that was me as a kid
And it's not just me, it's in the family.
My sister had a friend, that no one else saw,
Except for her and she really loved him

Poor girl, she couldn't sleep,
She started screaming from her dreams
She saw things, bad, bad things
I feel like E.A.Poe just writing about it

She had a name, I don't say it out loud
Rest In Peace, don't come back around
She had her past, she didn't wanna let go
Rest In Peace to the ghosts I know

You think you're gonna be a hard-hitter?
Well that's a false figure,
I always had more in common with the villains,
Than the heroes
I was trained by the paranormal,
You're not a hard-hitter
Oh you thought I get scared easily?
Well you know, I don't really like horror movies,
They Americanise these things,
These nights that are dark,
These minds of freaks
R.I.P. the city never sleeps
