Colourful Child's Dream

A child yearns for enjoyment
With the scorn of his parent's unemployment
Merciless for the harsh world around him
But as he closed his eyes and in an hours time

It's a colourful child's dream
Dungeons and dragons come to fruition
Vanished are his fears of college tuition
The colours burst like fire to the sound of the lyre

But soon, he tore his way a little further into the gap
In the gap, a tap of melancholy hit him
Depravity awaited him, as did the brutality of food only being a treat to eat
But before anything could materialise once more he did realise

It's a colourful child's dream
The spirited sensations of gumdrop smiles on a turning carousel
Intertwine with the instrumentations of space-age creations
His money problems were vanquished to the sound of his new Aston Martin

Now he was on the high road
Through the whimsical barricades and spades
The aggrandizing parade of the kingdom that come
The allure that made him want just a smidgen more

It's a colourful child's dream
The heaven that jubilantly came on a one-way voyage to space
The place three-quarters on the way to Mars with flying cars
And talking robots that are never far
There are toy palaces for the masses of a hundred metres making life a little sweeter

It was the kingdom that came and it honoured his name and fame
The cold of the old had transpired and the new was inspired
The rain was gold and all was foretold
The zenith had com

But by the mornings' time
The bliss had subdued into the abyss
