Glitter Lips

You read to me from the poetry book beside your bed
And I'll sing to you until we get tired
You make your happy noises and
You look at me with such wonderment
And I miss you when you're not around

I'll listen to you ramble about conspiracy theories
Or science and math and all the things you're doing at school
I'll poke your nose with smiles in my eyes
Getting lost in your mind is my new favourite pass-time
And you tell me "I don't ever want to not be yours"

And when you can't get through the day I'll hold you
I'll massage you with one of those fancy massage bars
The one that makes your back all sparkly
That when I kiss you I get glitter on my lips
And breasts and chest from pressing myself into you

And I think even when I wash these sparkles off my body
I'll still shine from the magic of being yours
And you being mine

And maybe we'll have a bath with one of your fancy bath bombs
That make our skin tingle and smell like peppermint
And I'll kiss your toes and play with you under the surface
Get water in your hair when I can't help caressing your face
Still making sure you're real
