Tommy Clocksmith

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Now he's trapped in time's box with no locksmith

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Yo... yo

There was a steady breeze
As Tommy walked towards the bank on unsteady knees
Like he's walking the plank over heavy seas
Cause the thoughts in his brain
Of his family were driving him crazy, he's not sane
He strolled down the sidewalk, with a tight jaw
At home, were his wife and kids with the lights off
Cause he's broke, and feeling like finding the right job's just a joke
So he looks at the bank that he might rob and he smokes
Nervous about living on 9 shots plus the hole
Especially concerning the 5 cops at the door
Tommy stepped to the teller holding a note
And it said gimme the money in 20's and go slow
Oh no, Tommy's in trouble cause those po's hold cold shotties
Locked loaded in slow mo
As he turned all 5 of the cops they fired shots
And just as Tommy glanced at the clock the time stopped

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Now he's trapped in time's box with no locksmith

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Yo... yo

Ayo I stepped back, my heart racing
What I saw was like something straight out of the Matrix
I was more than scared
Standing face to face with 5 shotgun shells suspended in mid-air
Like a swarm of bees about to blast in my chest
Hanging still as the hairs raised on the back of my neck
Frozen people looking shocked as they were cashing their checks
A teller was about to duck behind the back of his desk
I looked out at the street, it was cold and black
A city so alive trapped in a photograph
So I stepped outside to the sidewalk underneath a sky that was overcast
It was kinda eerie, a silent city, normally busy
But I could see quite clearly
That I was all alone
On a crowded block full of people walking like walls of stone
So I headed home to say goodbye
Thinking that when time started I would maybe die
Nearly made me cry as I walked
A single tear dropped
But before it hit the ground, it slowed down and stopped
I finally got home, and walked in the door
Saw my thin daughter sitting, legs crossed on the floor
In front of the TV with a blank screen
My wife in an empty room with a drink and a blank dream
The bank seemed crazy enough
On the dinner table was the classifieds page crumpled up
With nothing but a hopeless sigh and hung head I stepped
Back to the bank to make right what I had wrongfully left
So I walked to my death to face fate
Whatever would take place
Standing in the line of fire, feeling like my whole life was spent
The world stirred, shots echoed, and time commenced

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Now he's trapped in time's box with no locksmith

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Yo... yo

Tommy found himself in front of the bank when he heard the blast
Still holding his same smoke but it turned to ash
He was daydreaming, he imagined the whole thing
From the bank scene, to reality's cold freeze
The only thing that was real was the gun shot
Well if, Tommy's story was phony then what's not
Just then, two robbers in ski masks
Bust out the bank door, proceeded to flee past
Tommy Clocksmith, was trying to stop shit
But the cops did, dropped the robbers with hot clips
The two thugs lay dead from two slugs
And the police gave each other some group hugs
Tommy thought he was trippin in his head
He was dazed, cause really it should have been him dead
His palms were sweaty, trembling, heart cold
So he flicked his smoke and turned and walked home

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Now he's trapped in time's box with no locksmith

Tommy Clocksmith, he doesn't got shit
In this world but the Glock that he robs with
Lock and load, but all of the sudden the clock froze
Yo... yo
