Wetback

I was brought to the U.S.A. back in 1983
Different language, different world, different life, an opportunity
My mom worked the nightshift as a seamstress at the Levi's factory (Mojado)
My dad worked construction laying concrete for his family

Since I was sixteen I've been working representing the Mexican in me
Never gave up, never fade out, never broke down, I will succeed
My brother Ivan patriotic Semper Fi and joined the marines (Mojado)
His now in college working hard as he's chasing the American dream

I'm proud to be a wetback
A hard working immigrant
A hard working American
I'm proud to be a wetback

Now I have a house and a beautiful wife, who's always gonna love me
No welfare, no handouts, no food stamps, I work for what I need
My cousin Danny had his first little boy and you bet bilingual he will be (Mojado)
He's gonna raise him just the same way we were, with lots of dignity

I'm proud to be a wetback
A hard working immigrant
A hard working American
I'm proud to be a wetback

I'm proud to be a wetback
A hard working immigrant
A hard working American
I'm proud to be a wetback
