Pierce the Heavens
Since ancient times we've been obsessed with night skies
With errant stars which are far from us
Avoiding black holes and asteroids
Instead of seeking a place to hide, we fly
In a bid to find
The meaning of everyday life
But at the speed of light
All happy moments slide by
Weren't we born to pierce heaven's roof with our hopes
To catch the red sun and not let it out
The longer it burns, the greater pain grows
But still, in the end of our roads, we die alone
Like fallen leaves
Which are entombed under snow coverlid
Neath a twisted tree
We watched a dim gleam of our dream
Halley's tail seems so pale
Compare to the void inside us
An ember of joy smolders
Fatalism is a prison
Made of men's flesh - dead crowd
They hang on the tree
Their hush so shrilly loud
Are we alive
Or we just blind
Are prisoners of our own beliefs
An interior harmony
Is the one remedy for sheer insanity
But also the way right to the cemetery
Constant satiety is the hearth of soul's poverty
Scratching anxiety is the heart of poetry
Open your eyes
If it was easy to slay stormy clouds
Rays of sunlight wouldn't drown inside
And at the moment when they almost broke free
I felt breath of something that stood behind me
Ahh! It's death reminds of itself
By whispering a somnolent spell
An insolent mock filled the air
A croak of a black crow, blegh
Cold cuts deep into bones
And slowly turns me to stone
So many words are untold
On hot lips they are frozen
It lurks in the dark
Before make a sudden attack
To show images
Of the long forgotten past
But it's just an afterdeath mirage
Such a mean way to say - good luck and bon voyage
Since ancient times we've been obsessed with night skies
With errant stars which are far from us
Avoiding black holes and asteroids
Instead of seeking a place to fly, we hide
In fear to find
The meaning of everyday life
And at the speed of light
All happy moments slide by
But weren't we born to pierce heaven's roof with our hopes
To catch the red sun and not let it out
The brighter shine glows, the darker shades grow
And still, in the end of our roads, we die alone
Like fallen leaves
Which are entombed under snow coverlid
Neath a twisted tree
We watched a dim gleam of our dream
With errant stars which are far from us
