The Artists Prayer

We are all painters telling a story
The truest of colors we see

Without all colors, the vibrancy is leaving
Changing our layers telling the truth
Stretched on a canvas my mind is on eggshells
My feelings are bleeding

Together we're lost
I could never be honest
The portrait speaks
Can't recognize the face that I see

Life is
Black as night
Dull as grey
Lovely as a crimson spot in a golden ray
Singing the blues on green grass
Pumping red love through my heart
Chiseling lies away
Until I'm finally seen

We are clay being molded, touched and shaped by one another
To shape and to mold
To feel and to hold
Filling the cracks with gold

Be soft and pliable
Completely undeniable
Unlikely yet plausible
Painful and solvable
Broken and believable
Lost and unstoppable
Build with your heart and make what is true

We are all painters telling a story
We are all painters telling a story
We are all painters telling a story
We are all painters telling a story
We are all painters telling a story
