Azriel
For what shall it profit a man
If he gains the whole world
And loses his soul, they ask?
So i asked?
For what profits a young black boy
Trying to make an honest living
With nothing to show
The answer I mostly get is silence
In a binary world of zeros and ones
I'm on a quest to make it
From zero to one
In a doggy dog world
Where's either you feed or you become food
I must survive
I refuse to be a statistic
I refuse to be caught up in the mathematics of life
And gosh I suck at math
But here i am
Granny says
Gods time is the best
Like then whose time is it now
Maybe in your time He was the best
Or probably He got old and can't move around like He used to
Get this
I'm trapped within a sea of hopelessness
Living a life far beneath my potentials
Life is tryna knock me out
But i'm still standing on my feet
But it's hard taking hit after hit
Got my visions blurred out
Young student tryna get an education
But these schools increase tuition fees
Grades are slipping
Government policies are poor to see
Lack of employment opportunities
Shoddy says she ain't feeling me
Daddy was never around
Mummy is always down
All my life i've been on run
Still no finish line
Why, why me
What did i ever do
Then it hit me
I've been so determined on standing tall i forgot to go on my knees
I've been so determined on being one
I forgot about the One
Just like a soccer player goes on his knees and screams after scoring a goal
I went on my knees and screamed to a
God who knows all my goals
Flipped the pages of the good Book
And immediately i got hooked
Found truth, peace and liberty
Jeremiah 29:11
He says He's got a good future for me
He says He's got a good future for me
Do not worry about anything
But in everything through Prayer, Supplication and Thanksgiving make your request known unto Me
And the kind of peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart
The Lord is my light and Salvation
Whom shall i fear
And just like Marriane Williamson said
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure"
So just like God asked Joshua
He's asking you to be strong and courageous
Do not be frightened
Do not be frightened
So that brings me back to my question
For what shall it profit a man
If he's only focused on feeding the body and forgets to feed his soul
We out
If he gains the whole world
And loses his soul, they ask?
So i asked?
For what profits a young black boy
