An Apparition in Connemara

I've been spending all my days at an unknown address
At the foot of the mountains with a darkroom and a printing press
And love I can withstand because I wake up to a land under darkness

I saw an apparition moving through the fog and yes
Every feature assembled and measured in her likeness
And at nobody's command she moves across a land under darkness

And the yellow moon beaming down on Galway Bay
I see the silent body carried weightless on the wave
I come down to receive you, come to shed you of the sand
But I found nothing but footprints leading towards a land under darkness

Comes to me throughout the day or calls me from my rest
A statue of Mary winked at me, she told me to confess
She can summon any man through a portal to a land under darkness

And the yellow moon beaming down on Galway Bay
I see the silent body carried weightless on the wave
I come down to receive you, come to shed you of the sand
But I found nothing but footprints leading towards a land under darkness

And the yellow moon beaming down on Galway Bay
I see the silent body carried weightless on the wave
I come down to receive you, come to shed you of the sand
But I found nothing but footprints leading towards a land under darkness
