Memory Lane

Now I'm lookin at yesterday
Learning front the things we can't change
Workin' for a better today
Walkin' down this memory lane

Yeah I got a lot of things on my brain
And it never really seems to be the same
Conversation between me these things that'll never change
Part of me just wanted things to just stay the same but it just can't
And I'm left with this walk to remember call it memory lane
Goin' back to the good days when
Everybody was healthy everybody was happy
Family laughing you would always tell me you could be a pro athlete
You always believed in me when I didn't even really believe in myself
And every song that I ever showed you told me that was something else
That was a good thing always had some wisdom some piece of advice
Wow to fix the car how to make the greens just right
I don't remember all of it but your heart was just right
It's just light in this dark world
With you everything just seemed alright
And now I'm looking at yesterday

Now I'm lookin at yesterday
Learning front the things we can't change
Workin' for a better today
Walkin' down this memory lane
Memory Lane
Walkin' down this memory lane

Should've wrote this six months ago but
It's hard to process this it's emotional
When I'm on to the next thing but I
Don't stop for these things I just go
It's hard to admit the fact that we
Weren't as close as I would want to be
But I cherish these memories here with you knowing your proud of me
You're the inspiration for when I
Wrote legacy dedicated it at your service
And I believe you did that very thing
Served for the future with every ounce of everything
Setting up the family to be the best that we could ever be
I miss you and even with the long
Distance I'm confident I'll revisit you
Prayed for you every day confidence until
The day before you knocked on heavens door
I truly believe you paved the floor for generations to come and more

Now I'm lookin at yesterday
Learning front the things we can't change
Workin' for a better today
Walkin' down this memory lane
Memory Lane
Walkin' down this memory lane

Looking at these old photos old pictures in front of your old home
Listening to the sound of your voice
Talking about how it used to be long ago
Now you're in your a new place new
Life new home no pain no health issues
Tellin' death so long
It's crazy how you don't really know what you have until it's too late
Holding on to these memories still picture seeing your smiling face
Your sense of humor your caring words your inspiration your strength
You made the days seem brighter through you I've witnessed God's grace
In this crazy world these
Circumstances a lot of questions seeking answers
Trusting God with all of this cause only He can make it matter
Turning all of these broken pieces
Turn them into a masterpieces (Amen)
No we never walk alone we walk together and I believe it

Now I'm lookin at yesterday
Learning front the things we can't change
Workin' for a better today
Walkin' down this memory lane
Memory Lane
(Yeah Yeah Yeyeah Yeyeah)
Walkin' down this memory lane

(I called to see how you was doin'
I'm just sittin' around ain't doin nothin'
Tryina get my lawn mower started
Cut the lawn to get a little exercise
You have a nice day
And I love you
Bye Bye)
