This life was never meant to become a burden
But in time we lost our path and sense of direction
Following the footsteps of failures along the way
Burning the bridges that would lead us out of misery
The only thing that keeps us marching on
Is the hope that one day, we'll see through the veil of deception
To find serenity, in a world we cannot see
A place for you and me, to sing hymns of infinity

Why do we choose to suffer such a fate
Trying to find our place in the world
Why do we choose to listen and obey
The lies that condemn all of our morals

Find me, lift me up to better days
Let me trace the lines that define the existence of grace
We are kept in fear to remind us that we're alone
So vague and unclear, the future remains unknown
A haunting silence will be our only serenade

Blood spilled on sacred ground
Like a shepherd that herds the sheep around a false crown
We recite an ancient verse to break this curse
But still we wait for the worst, pray for the worst

And as the ashes fall the earth is burned
But we still stand forever tall
