Little Things

I took a leaflet from a mormon on a bicycle
I didn't want you to know
I took a pamphlet from a pushy evangelical
And I hid it at home
I took a pen I broke a mirror off a motor bike
but mostly of the stupid things I didn't let you know
I guess it seemed important that the bad parts don't show

I found a wallet with a gift card to a local store
I didn't want you to know
I bought you dinner and kept the wallet
And then I hid it at home
I kept on planning to send it to its owner
But somehow I forgot and though I didn't let it show
Still time to time in my room the wallet says hello

I knew a guy who was loving your friend's company
I didn't want you to know
If I had said a few words of his feelings
Their love it could have shown
But instead I let my jealousy get the best of me
I didn't say a word and I didn't watch it start
I wasn't planning on playing my part

I didn't tell you all these little things then
But somehow today it's important you know
