Fairytale

I used to read the writing on the wall
I used to find the meaning in it all
I used to dream in stories, I used to dream in song
I'd paint pictures in starlight only erased by the dawn

But little girls' dreams don't mean what they seem
When that last spot of sun turns to shade
And Is there any relief for those who still believe
Something good's gonna come their way?

And we stay in the shadows that swallow our faith

We can hardly recognize the truth between the lies

But I see through the charade of this empty masquerade
And I don't believe everything that I hear
