Noir
Said Johnny we need get out of the city
It's pretty but hiding a couple of bodies
They know what we did and the demons surround me
I hope that we live but the forecast is cloudy
I said Tommy listen, you go if you want
But I'd rather die than try live as a pawn
I've booked you a ticket, now coward get gone
I'll find me the answer by dawn
This here the tales from Metropolis
Johnny the PI was hot on the case
And there was no force on the Earth that was stopping him
You could tell that off his face
That off the stains, of coffee
That often would drop on his shirt
At night when he'd work
Awake at the office off first
The man lost his dad to the war
His mom to disease
And since then his mind has been cursed
With thoughts of revenge
Mind has been often on edge
Thoughts of his youth in his head
When Tommy was crying at night
With no mother to hold him
Rage building up, he's emboldened
This one was tough
Usually cases didn't vex him so much
Usually they were just open and shut
But this one a labyrinth, he'd noticed that much
The more that he looked, the less that he saw
An hour to dawn, they started to turn off the lights in the street
Mind tries to sleep but his body keeps fighting
Surviving, An memory strikes him like lightning
He's off like the flash for a cab to the spot by the docks
He won't get no help from the cops
The family bought them, and all who they couldn't, they shot
So he set his aim for the top
He knew if he loaded his scope and he shot at the throat
Of the boss, then the gang would dissolve
So he got there early and waited with baited breath
Damn what a day ahead
In a moment, van rolls up and time gets frozen
Front door opens, figure steps out
And Johnny knows it, there's his man
Get to unloading, as he's scoping
Sees the other door open
He prepares for reinforcements
But the figure isn't bigger than a child
It's the son, looking up, at his father with a smile
Johnny's mind goes reeling
Now he's stealing, a young mans dad
And it's less appealing
Need to shut down these feelings
That mans evil, city needing
Answers, got up in their lungs like cancer
Johnny know he really got to man up
But his hands stuck and his throat closed
He starts thinking that he'll go home
And pack up, then run away
City needs a superhero, like Johnny Storm
He ain't one today, then he feel a
cold presence press against his neck
It's the gun they used to kill the president
Family henchmen's dogs must have traced his sent
And they made him hell's new resident
It's pretty but hiding a couple of bodies
They know what we did and the demons surround me
I hope that we live but the forecast is cloudy
