The Creature
There was I with my merry men, on yon marshy Fenn, a watery world
Somewhere near here, or so it is told in the legends of old, dwells the golden haired girl
The golden haired girl dwells here on this island, a strange little creature swims round and around
From the boat we can see it, through murky water. Shhhhh we'll scare it away if we make a sound
Who is this creature with it's small pale features, and it's wide open eyes
So thin and so shy. Who who who is this creature
We set up our camp, the moon it was full, and out of the water the creature did come
It ran on two legs from tree to tree to tree, staggerin' like it was blind deaf and dumb
We followed behind it, through the dark wood. It came to a clearing where a cottage stood
A candle in the window. It knocked on the door. Inside it did go
We peeked in the window and yay it was so. The golden haired girl
Who is this creature with it's small pale features, and it's wide open eyes
So thin and so shy. Who who who is this creature
Could it be me, could it be you? drippin' with water and beggin' for food, beggin' for food
As if it had always been part of her world, the creature beside her the golden haired girl
Who is this creature with it's small pale features, and it's wide open eyes
So thin and so shy. Who who who is this creature who is this creature

As if it had always been part of her world, the creature beside her the golden haired girl
Who is this creature with it's small pale features, and it's wide open eyes
So thin and so shy. Who who who is this creature who is this creature
