The Lighthouse

I sat right by the ocean
Staring off, to the sea, wondering
One day I'll cross the water
Searching for, something more
Something more
I lived inside a lighthouse
Showing the way to those in need
It forced away the darkness
Helping the lost world to see

I thought I had it all
I thought I'd never fall
Never fall
A storm was on its way
I wish that I had stayed
Should've stayed
A hurricane all around
The lighthouse kept me
Safe and sound

I looked across the night sky
Over the water I saw a light
I prepared myself to set sail
And I left the lighthouse behind
I don't know what came over me
The unknown, the dark
Curiosity
Too blind to even notice
The storm, I should have known this

I thought I had it all

I finally arrived across the water
And only found, a capsized ship
Dawned on me that the light I saw
Was my lighthouse, reflecting off of it
