I Would Come Right Back to You
"Once upon a time" so our story began
Our characters were carefully moulded
Chapters were told but as the story grew old
The cracks in the tale unfolded
So you think you were cast as the one who was strong
But I guess that depends on who tells it
Weakness is NOT always as it seems
If cowards get an Oscar -you'd hold it
I would come right back to you
If I thought we'd make it
But when cameras are on
And the spotlights on you
You're to weak to face it
Marriage let's you hide with the mask you wear
...Try being true to yourself
You think there's no deal when you hide our affair
But our books always there on the shelf
'Happy ever after' is the ending you choose
But your tale will need a little more luck
Lying to yourself and the one that you're with
You've wiped my script from the book
I would come right back to you
If I thought we'd make it
But when cameras are on
And the spotlights on you
You're to weak to face it
So the final chapter's written
But does the hero stand tall?
Because 'our' 2 endings aren't the same
In mine, I'm the good one who takes the fall
In yours I'm the needy and lame
Now if you made a film of your life history
I'm sure that you'd miss me out
But don't forget 'my' book knows about you and me
...To live "Happy ever after" in doubt
As the story is told
Our tale will unfold
There's nowhere to hide
Its written inside
So lie all you can
They'll see how you ran
To be your bride
At the cost of you pride
The Ending
