Hotel Reveal

I stood at my door, when the maid walked by
Undid my tie and told me, I don't mind
I followed her in, and the drinks were waiting, music
Was playing for no one, out of time

I sipped from the glass and reached for her hand
She gave me a wink and my legs turned to sand
I staggered around and fell to the floor
The lights all went dim and I saw her no more

I reached for the phone, and a man replied,
The taxi's arrived, it's only 8.55
And as in a dream, the train was waiting, passengers
Making for nowhere, one at a time

I took off my hat, sat back in my chair
The girl with my tie had her hands through my hair
I turned quickly round, and she gave me a smile
'Tickets please sir, you'll be here for a while'
